The awesome people over at World Nomads were kind enough to sponsor us with free travel insurance for six months. It's something you need anyway, so why not check them out and help us out at the same time?

The Plan

The beauty of our trip lies in its flexibility. After almost a year of research and planning, we decided that we wanted an open-ended, completely flexible trip. This means we haven’t purchased a traditional RTW ticket. We are instead relying on one-way travel via planes, trains, buses, camels, rickshaws, etc. This should allow us to travel at our own pace, and really explore the places we like the most.

That being said, we do have a loose plan. Here it is:

The trip begins on September 5th with a flight to London, where we’ll mostly visit friends. Then it’s on to a brief stop in Amsterdam before the adventure really begins in Istanbul. We’ll spend some time in Turkey, Greece, and Egypt before heading over to Nepal, India, and then on to Southeast Asia for an extended stretch. After that it’s on to South America, where we’ll learn some Spanish before heading north through South America, Central America, and Mexico before returning home. Estimated trip length: approximately one year.
