Sounds of the Annapurna
Posted December 24th, 2006 by Kevin AllgoodDuring our 12 day trek in the Himalayas of Nepal we saw, heard, tasted, and, er, smelled many interesting things. Here is an audio montage of some sounds we recorded along the way.
There are eight different clips, edited together. In order, listen for: Nepali music from a television at a guesthouse along the trail; daytime sounds from a rooftop surrounded by snow-covered peaks; the swirling waters of a stream on windswept, high altitude plains; one of many waterfalls encountered along the trail; standing aside as a caravan of bell-wearing donkeys passes; howling wind outside at Kagbeni; village girls singing and playing by candlelight; rain falling on day 11.

hey- merry christmas, keval. am thinking of you being so far away from home. know that i am sending you much love. wish i could send you some of the killer xmas cookies we’ve been baking, too.

Thanks everyone, we had a good Christmas and enjoyed hearing from our friends and family.
Also glad that people are still enjoying the site!
Peter - still or video? The video camera is a Sony HDR-HC1. Val uses a Canon Digital Rebel for all the still shots. It’s really amazing out there, isn’t it? Hope you make it back!
